Purpose
The purpose of the Community Television Advisory Committee is to provide input to the NSAC Board of Directors and to staff on decisions involving NSAC community television policies and procedures, budgeting for equipment purchases and strategic planning.
The Chair of the Advisory Committee will report to the NSAC Board of Directors.
Meetings
The Advisory Committee will meet at least quarterly on a schedule to be established by the committee members.
Membership
The Advisory Committee shall be composed of five members, three to represent Public Access, one to represent Educational Access, and one to represent Government/Municipal Access.
When an opening on the Advisory Committee is announced, interested candidates must complete an application and submit it to the NSAC Board of Director's selection committee. Criteria for selection may include:
In addition, for the Government Access positions, the selection committee will attempt to maintain a balance between the small, medium and large member cities, as determined by the most recent census.
Eligibility
Term of Service
The term of service on the Community Television Advisory Committee is two years and will begin in July. the invitation to submit applications for openings on the committee will be published three months in advance of the end of the term using all available NSAC/CTV media, including the newsletter and the web site.
An individual may serve on the committee for two successive two-year terms, for a total of four years. Upon completion of two successive two-year terms, a former committee member may serve again no sooner than two years after the expiration of the previous term.
In the event a committee member leaves the committee prior to the end of his/her two-year term, the alternate for that position may be appointed by the Board of Directors to serve out the balance of that term. The alternate or the replacement committee member would then be eligible to serve for two full two-year terms.
Staffing
The Community Television Advisory Committee will be staffed by employees of the North Suburban Access Corporation/CTV.
